Hello out there! I've been on doxy and went through a horrible herx reaction (which I am still dealing with) and also have a UTI infection. I have noticed during the last several weeks that my body odor has changed. Not a worse smell, not more---just different. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something I should worry about?

Thanks form Texas

Hi 005,

Yes, I noticed a change. For a while there I had the stinkiest left armpit. About two months, even right after washing vigorously my left armpit stunk.

It seems to be more moderate now, and is directly related to sweating.

I've also noticed my mouth tastes different. Not better or worse, but has a different taste.

Not sure if it is part of detoxing, or lymph moving around better, but on a whole, I'd have to say I smell more pleasant 4 months into abx than I did prior to lyme dx.

Or maybe I just stink so badly now, I don't smell it anymore. Haha.

Lyme and co. are full of surprises...

I think I just found an answer to my own question after digging thru the internet. I also have chronic migraines and apparently the migraine medicine both the shots I take and the daily preventative Topamax can cause changes in body odor. So I think this might be the culprit:-)

I have had a stinky left arm pit for about 2 yrs now. I just started treatment for lyme cpl weeks ago so it is not abx

maybe it is the little buggers
