My ferritin level is low. My blood work does not show anemia, just the low ferritin. My LLMD said I should take iron to bring it up.
I am treating Lyme and babesia. I heard that iron feeds babesia. When I take the iron, I get more air hunger. Could be a coincidence. I am taking spatone pur absorb iron, one packet a day with vitamin C.
So, do you take iron or not? Can taking it make babesia worse?

Yes yes yes take iron.
My LLND told me that I needed to worry about giving my body what it needs FIRST, and not to worry about feeding the bacteria.
Babesia is stealing the iron from your body. (Mine too)
So yes, it will continue to steal it, but yes your body still needs iron to function properly to heal and fight these darn things.
It can't do it if it doesn't have enough nutrients to fuel it's defense.
Ferrous gluconate is gentler on the stomach, and you're right-iron is better absorbed with vitamin C. (Should take it with food and 2 hours away from your abx). And with a glass of liquid as it can constipate.

I agree with Greta, ferrous gluconate is the best and it is constipating. Those greedy, little bart or babs buggers won't share their iron, which was yours to begin with. You definitely need iron to heal properly and to fight infection.

Cooking with cast iron pans is good for you. The iron leaches on to the food and helps keep levels up.

Blood Builder from Megafood is very good, and non-constipating.
