The clinic I just came back from will not return calls/requests for lab results.
LabCorp refuses to release the results because the clinic filled out the requisition without my address?
But I spoke to a supervisor and asked them how are you able to send me bills if you don't have my address? Because they have my address but because it wasn't written on that requisition I can't have my results.
It's been a month since the labs were done.

I would think if you go to the clinic where the blood was drawn, and show proof (drivers lic.) they should be able to give you the results.

Hi steve, my blood was drawn at a clinic across the country so that won't work, but thank you for the suggestion.

My husband finally spoke to a human at the clinic. I have to fill out another release form and then they'll send the results. So we'll see...
JessieP- that's exactly what we were thinking if it comes to it.

It's illegal for a doctor or clinic to refuse to give you your test results! They are YOURS! Preaching to the choir, I'm sure. Yeesh!

Filled out a release form- not sure why I have to do that to get copies of my own labs- thought that was just required for transfer to another doc...
But they said because they are so understaffed I have to wait 2 more weeks to get copies.
Gee...hope all those tests that were so important to get done are ok. Must all be fine since it will be 6 weeks total since the results came back, right?...(sarcasm)

Daynise,
In the future make sure your Dr writes in "patient" in the "send additional copies to" section of the lab form. The Dr must write this in for every lab request sheet.

Can they fax you the labs so you can get them quicker?
(Or will that be another nightmare just getting a live person of there to pick up the phone)

Be sure your doc wants you to have your labs. I went to a llmd who never managed to get the authorization on the labs and for that and other reasons, they are in my past.

Since you paid for the tests, you are entitled to them, period. You always have to request lab tests in writing, there may be a form that they particularly use, but a general medical release form should work.

You can sign up to get your labs on line for labcorp.

Thanks Ponco- I did that too- the tests are not there and the supervisor said Labcorp won't give them to me or make them available online because the requisition (which I never saw) was filled out wrong by the clinic.
Apparently they can't give them to me because it's missing my address AND they said missing my name- I asked them how they know who to bill and where to send the bill and how those labs are mine then and they said, "I can't answer that. Billing is a different department".
I am so frustrated and completely exhausted. I just wish one thing could go well and didn't have to be an epic fight for me.

I hope you are able to get the results soon.
I know how frustrating it is paying for the darn things then having to jump through hoops to get the results.

Maybe you could try faxing the place you had the blood drawn? I've gotten responses by doing that.
I'm wondering if they lost your blood work. This has me thinking as I had labs drawn a week and a half ago and haven't gotten any results yet. Labcorp.
I've made that point multiple times regarding their knowing where to send the bill. Multiple times I've been told my address doesn't exist. Deliveries that didn't arrive, power company, phone company... I guess it only exists when it's beneficial to them.

I had my blood drawn in office, so that's the doctor- they say another 2 weeks until they have time to give them to me
I didn't pay for the labs up front luckily- and I don't have insurance, so LabCorp has received nothing from me for these tests yet.
So, I am sending LabCorp a letter with any bills I get requesting results as proof that they ever were received and processed before I can make any payments- because I am starting to believe they lost or messed up the tests too.

My husband was able to get my results!!!!!!! Every test is abnormal- some of the numbers are really, really out of range...no one ever called, ever offered to go over them, and it took 5 weeks. Unbelievable.

WOW!!! They are supposed to notify the doctor of any labs out of range.
It's almost two weeks for me with no results. Called, called another number, emailed, nothing!
I'm betting I'll have some abnormals in there too. I wonder what's going on with Labcorp.
I hope you're going to be OK. There are so many things that could be life threatening if abnormal.
Yes! Unbelievable! BTW, Could your husband get my results?

I know right! My husband must know some magic word or something! And it isn't "please" because I tried that!
But in the end, we got the results from the clinic, not LabCorp. LabCorp refused to release them to us and so my husband just kept calling the clinic over and over until he talked to a lady he's never talked to and got them.
My ND here in town is going over them- I don't know how to interpret it all together with what's going on in my body- so I'm waiting for him to explain to me.
