In April 2013, I started having a soar throat feeling on the back of the roof of my mouth extending downward into my throat. A month or two later, my neck became sensitive to the touch, meaning that if I pressed my neck in the right place (roughly midway down the neck), it would hurt a lot. It has also been a bit painful to swallow at times. I also note that when I am doing a stretching exercise that involves my kneeling down, butt on heels, and touching my head to the floor, that this seems to create pressure in my neck area.
I saw an ENT, who took 3 seconds to look in my mouth, saw no obvious infection, and told me any pain I felt upon applying pressure might be due to "fibro". I felt so dismissed by him that I didn't even bother to push, thinking there was no point.
Any ideas on what this might be? Might it be related to Lyme and/or coinfections? I'm wondering if there are some lymph nodes that are swollen. Just a thought.

My Lyme escapade started exactly like that - constantly sore throat, inflamed pharynx and sinuses.
It took me 20 months to find out that I have Lyme. During these 20 months I have seen at least 100 of doctors around the world, until blood test showed borrelia. By that time Lyme became chronic.

Post-nasal drip can cause sore throats. I can feel it all the way down my throat and my nose isn't running.
It's from wayyyyy up in the sinuses.
Crimson crescents are common in people with CFS, but I don't think it's in the same place that you described.
