I have already posted about how I have felt so bad this past week and I am not sure what is going on. One thing I have noticed is this weird taste in my throat, like a sickly sweet smell/taste.

I used the restroom this morning and it was dark green, mushy, and smelled so sickly sweet I almost gagged.

What is going on with me? I really don't want to see a dr. but might have to.

Is your pee green also?

I think it could be something called poryphia. (sp?)

No question is a gross question.

Lyme and co messes everything up.

Unless you ate kale and spinach all day yesterday, haha. Or a blue slurpee.

Here's a few thoughts...

*Green leafy vegetables
*green food coloring, such as in flavored drink mixes or ice pops, gelatin (Jell-O)
* iron supplements
*foods that are rich in iron
*If food is moving through the large intestine too quickly, (like diarrhea)
*Some Medications
*Laxatives or colon cleansers
*I've also heard that Irritable bowel syndrome can cause Green stool

i had blueberries last night but I haven't noticed them causing this problem.

What freaks me out is that this yucky sweet taste that has been in my throat/mouth this whole time I have been sick is now coming out when I use the restroom.

Maybe it is a good thing that it is coming out. i might try some activated charcoal, have been feeling so toxic.

My pee is normal too. would porphyria cause green pee?

You know me. I always suspect yeast. The sweet smell would be a strong reason to suspect it.

Did you Google your symptoms?

Green stool can be a sign of infection. GI infections can get out of the intestines and into the bloodstream. They can be very dangerous.

Get to your doc or an Urgent Care.

Yeast did cross my mind. No I did not google symptoms cause everything is so jacked up from lyme that I doubt I have a normal response to anything.

This morning was the first time my waste looked different. I will watch it. If it continues I guess I will have to see a dr, but I hate most dr.s outside of my llmd. They have mostly proved totally useless at best and condescending, invalidating, and hateful at worst.

Boxermom, How would a dr. determine a gi infection? a test? I don't trust dr.s to know what is going on, maybe i could test myself with a lab?

Also, I am taking multi with iron. Lymetoo, I recently cut way back on sugar. Can cutting back make you sick??

For a long time I still had cereal, granola bars, etc. things with sugar but not cake, ice cream or super sweet stuff. I recently decided to cut all of it out, so maybe yeast is dying?

Sweet taste...

http://www.scarysymptoms.com/2012/01/sweet-taste-in-mouth-causes-and.html

Determine a GI Infection - I think they would do one or both of these...

Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
Or Colonoscopy

Blueberries may just be it.
Green in the inside if fresh.

Also, if you just recently cut out sweet things or carbs, perhaps you're tasting the effects of low carb?

When I started low carb my mouth tasted sweet.

Do you have any strips to meansure ketones? If you pee on the strips and they change color you have ketones in your urine.

no i don't have any strips to measure ketones.

I wish i knew what was going on with me. The bathroom issue may be just the blue berries but i have been so ill for the past week with so many odd symptoms. First the muscle aching in the am and then hot and cold during the day, then it turned into a creaky, achy neck and now the hot and cold has gotten better but now my head is so full of pressure and achy and I feel kind of nauseous and light headed.

This is not my normal lymie stuff and I would give anything to know what is going on with me and feel better!!

The first thing that came to my mind when you said green stools, was bile.
Bile, which comes from the liver, is green and breaks down fats for digestion.

When you don't have enough bile in the digestive system, the stools will look tan instead of brown.

The link that LymeToo provided says this:
"Infants experiencing dark green stool may be suffering from a lack of intestinal bacteria."

It's possible that you don't have enough of the good bacteria in the large bowl, which is needed for digestion.
Are you having gas?

If you've started any new meds recently, you could try stopping those for a day or two, and see if that affects your stools.
You could drink Kefir, which has a good mix of the bacteria your gut needs for digestion.

Possibly digestive enzymes would help too.

I have this same problem and that taste in my mouth is terrible!! I honestly think it is yeast because when I take Diflucan it gets much worse (die-off). I would suspect a serious imbalance in the gut. All of my stools are undigested foods, loose and change colors from green to tan to brown. It's never normal anymore. My stool also smells very strong/sweet.

Still green today. I had hoped it would pass. No med changes.

Head and ears full of pressure. This is awful. Might take diflucan tonight.

If you get more die-off, you will know the score. If you don't, call your doctor!

i wouldnt take diflucan...it might be too much. good luck

It reminds me of when a friend did a grapefruit juice/gallbladder cleanse.

I believe she mentioned something about her stool being green from all the bile coming out.

Green stool is referenced here: http://www.mkprojects.com/fa_Cleanses_for_EnhancedVitality.htm

I don't know the science for this though. Some websites I read said it's a saponified reaction (you're making soap in your intestines and it has nothing to do with the gallbladder, but people believe it does).

Perhaps it's a chemical reaction with what you're eating.

Hi Gigimac-

Just another possibility: green stools are a symptom of blastocystis. I'm just learning about this parasite but you might see if other symptoms match up for you:
