Hello-

i have written a few times about my eye issues and issues with Bart and Yeast that I know I have. My LLMD and Lyme Friendly Optho.and Allergist do not have answers, but I am going to tell my whole story so maybe someone has an idea so I can treat the co-infection causing my pain.

At the current time my eyes are hot and burn, top lash line is scratchy, bottom eye bag is itchy and can be tender to touch. It is also darkish. Top lid is pink and feels warm and it's sticky and warm feeling and sometimes they itch and scratch. I look like I have a circle around my eyes, top is pinker and bottom is bluish. They are swollen like bags and never look better. The tops of my cheekbones are swollen and tender and cheekbones and eyes have a light humming feeling all the time now as of 2 weeks ago. I have slight post nasal drip sometimes. No sinus problems or allergies. An excellent allergist says it is not an allergy issue, but Lyme and cos - his thought.

November: Bart relapse after came off abx.

December: Started eating suger and took less probiotics like a fool because I was off abx.

Dec.-Feb: Few mornings woke up with big bags under eyes that went away late morning.

End of March: Took 2 days of Monicycline and bags become permanent all day and night but much worse in morning.

May: Bottom bags turn darkish and resemble allergy shiners and eyes inside bag itch all the time.

June: Woke up one morning with pinkish red top lids and swollen like a bag. Yuck.

July: Diagnosed with yeast. Notice very painfull eyes stinging when near certain hand soaps and bird seed dust, and they do this other times as well. My eyeballs are now involved and not just lids. They are always bloodshot and hot and burn.

September: Around my eyes make a circle like a mask, bottoms are darker and tops are pinker. They are always puffy and bottom contines to be way more obvious and darker. The pain by the end of month and a relapse of Bart again( on Rifampin and IV Rocephin) is making them burn hot and scratch. Bart makes my eys dry so this is what I think the scatching is. All too much to take.

I apologize for the run on about my eyes, but I am in pain so badly and have no one that can help. I still have untreated yeast except diet, garlic, and oil of oregano. Diflucan gave me neuropathy. I am thinking it is yeast and Bart jumped in, but am not sure.

I look and feel awful and have been battling Lyme and Bart for 3 and 1/2 years and had Bart symptoms in eyes like blurry, dry, swollen around them, but not bags and intense itching like this and intense stinging. Bart meds would clear up the eyes within weeks, so this is much worse.

Any good thoughts on what this could be and what I can do will be greatly appreciated. It seems to be a downward 10 month spiral.

Thank you-
Cattail

I wonder if it would be helpful to use coconut oil around your eyes...

And I wonder if there is such a thing as anti-fungal eye-drops...

Colloidal silver eye drops?

Might consult a Lyme-Literate Naturopath about this...

And maybe mycoplasma should be considered as well, along with allergy to mold or other allergy issues...since the soaps bother your eyes (soaps bother mine too, and I know it's an allergy or chemical sensitivity issue with me).

Also consider parasites...

Cattail,

I can't say what is causing your condition, but I can say even the most Lyme literate of our eye docs and LLMD's have VERY little experience with or knowledge about the ACA manifestations of chronic Lyme.

You might want to check out these pictures? There are some of people's eyes with Lyme ACA, but there are more manifestations not pictured yet.

https://picasaweb.google.com/AfterTheBite/LymeTBDRashes

Here is a recent publication (link provided at this page) about some newly discovered (verified) skin conditions related to Lyme. I've put the hard-core reading into some short words and pics that may be of interest to you?

https://sites.google.com/site/marylandlyme/symptoms-information/updated-skin-manifestations

If the pics aren't clear enough on the pdf attachment, email me and I'll send the original document with better pics for you. [email protected]

To note- my eyes burn and sometimes itch when I am toxic and herxing. In fact, it is one sure way to know I am herxing. Glutathione helps very much with this situation, at least for me.

I also use natural drops for dry eyes and an anti-itch drop when needed that I kinda let smear/slide around on my eye lids. That really helps me. Hope this info can help you!

It sounds like an irritant is getting into your eyes (either from internal or external sources).

It might not be an allergy, but an irritant.

The dark circles do imply some kind of allergic reaction to something though. You don't have to have a stuffy nose to have an allergic reaction.

It could be VOCs (soap can out gas them, especially scented soap).

Laundry soap can cause me to react like you describe.

Here's some info:
