I was diagnosed with lyme having been bitten at least a year or more earlier. After a year of antibiotic treatment, I tested negative on the Lyme Elisa and western blot tests which I had initially tested positive on the Elisa and had one lyme specific band on the western blot.
For one year afterwards, I struggled with lingering stiffness in my hands and feet, weight gained wouldn't come off,had muscle weakness and my energy levels were up and down and never back to what I consider normal for me. I tried acupuncture, physical therapy and found a chiropractor who himself had lyme and he helped me the most with a yeast killer, probiotics and digestive enzymes and within a month I was feeling better and almost like my old self. He retired and I regressed back to more pain and stiffness in hands and feet , physically weak, and fatigued a lot of the time.
Now I tested again positive on Elisa and one lyme specific band on WB a year after testing negative! Back on antibiotics for a month and now having the same lingering symptoms. How can I get off this roller coaster? Why did I test positive again after all these antibiotics? I did not get bitten again. I don't know if my symptoms are the effects of antibiotics or the Lyme itself. So tired and frustrated. Please help!

Did you treat for any coinfections as well?
Lyme tests are the pits...not a reliable indicator of anything.
An LLMD/LLND will treat until symptoms are resolved.
I am sorry you are going through this, especially when you thought you were done.
Maybe post in seeking? It may be time to find an LLMD that will treat coinfections and also treat till your symptoms are gone.
I am so sorry you're on this road again.

GretaM - I was tested for some other viruses and co- infections but none I was positive for seemed to be causing the lingering problems. I have moved to Florida and it's been hard to find someone in the general area! I have been searching again but not sure just who to go see. Thanks for your support. Lymetoo- I am on the protocol again and so far it doesn't seem to be working the same. It's only been 2 weeks so I have another couple to go before I can say for sure, whether or not it is helping. I will be re-tested in mid-Nov for Lyme again - just having a bad couple of days right now! I need to know whether I still have a yeast issue or not and not sure if I know how to tell the difference.
