When looking at Lyme symptoms people often talk about migratory pains. Mine doesn't migrate at all. It is just in my SI joint. When I was first diagnosed with Lyme I was suffering from severe bilateral hip bursitis following a tick bite.

I could hardly walk and had to ride in the car with ice packs around my hips. With treatment the bursitis resolved. What I am left with is inflamedSI joints. No other joint pains.

This makes me wonder if this is still even related to Lyme.

I am a newbie here and really don't know all that much about Lyme symptoms...but I do have a little SI dysfunction that is completely unrelated.

I know that mine is caused by an imbalance in my posture from slight scoliosis. So, maybe the bursitis that you had caused you to walk differently for a while and threw your SI joint out of whack?

Just a thought...but only you would know if the bursitis affected your gait or anything like that.

Inflamed joints screams lyme and parasites to me.

My pains (nerve pain and muscle pain)are always in the same areas. They come and go, but don't migrate.

My husband had obvious migrating pains. It seemed like every month he had a new "injury": knees, ankles, achilles, elbow.

Lax mom where are your pains? The thing with mine is it's not "areas", its just one area, which makes me wonder. Perhaps its just an issue with my SI joint that has nothing to do with Lyme.

I certainly don't want to keep going after Lyme, hurting my body even more when this may not even be the cause.

This is a concern of my LLNP as well. She feels people spend years in treatment hitting Lyme over and over again when in fact it's o longer Lyme causing the issue, now its just what's left behind.

Well, you could always have an MRI and get it looked at-
may be the cartilage is gone, requiring surgery.

Have you tried physical therapy?

Lyme can wreak havoc on cartilage.

Surprise made a great suggestion.

Get an MRI for it.

Also, the right kinesiologist could make a big difference as well. They will analyze your gate, posture, bone dimensions etc and give you exercises and stretches to help even out any imbalances.

I don't have migrating pain either, but that is because every large joint has cartilage damage, arthritis, tendonitis and swelling from lyme.

But if I had only one sore joint, I would go and see a physiotherapist or kinesiologist.

I have had a cat scan and MRI. The cat scan showed changes consistent with ankylosing spondylitis or psoriatic arthritis. The MRI showed bulging discs.
I have an appt Monday with a new Chiro that also uses kinesiology.

My pain is always in my left shoulder, left side of my face/jaw and left side of my neck.

Come to think of it, I had a car accident years ago that jerked my head to the left. I had to wear a neck brace for a couple of days, then was fine afterward.

So, it could be that area was weak, allowing infection to seep in...or that area was weak and is just now showing signs of injury.

Your post really got me thinking about this symptom of mine.
