Hello,

I'm trying to help someone who just got bitten by a tick and shows a big EM rash. How much Doxy (or Mino?) should he be taking per day, and for how many weeks? He is a healthy & active 73 year old.

Thank you!
Julie

I can't recall off the top of my head, but if you go to the top of medical questions, there is a Dr. B's guidelines.

In those guidelines there is specific info on what to do for a early tick bite.

Best wishes

200mg of doxycycline/ 2X per day. With food (the packet insert is wrong and is for an earlier tetracycline). Take away from dairy and supplements with calcium/magnesium

Take probiotics 2 hours away from doxy. Take for at least 6 weeks.

Here's Dr. B's treatment protocol:
