this is driving me crazy.

i have like a stuffed football feeling under my ribs on the left side. occasionally on the right.

it wraps around my left side and goes to my back.

sitting definitely makes it worse.

my back hurts from the shoulder blade down to my hips. my hips hurt alot when i walk, sort of like being out of place. my lower back hurts all the time.

nothing seems to help. not painkillers, flexeril, nothing.

and it's been worse since i had that dang echo gram where she shoved that wand up under my ribs.

it feels like a heavy pressure sensation. oh and it's worse at night. i can't sleep sometimes for the pain.

sitting and walking make it worse. i can't even bend over the kitchen counter without a spasm in that back. i mean i literally jerk, like a myclonic jerk or something.

i'm at wits end. strained muscles? liver or spleen problems? pancreas acting up again???

i don't know. it seems to be only the left side. and it's making me miserable.

That danged nurse with that wand!

I would go an see a doc about it.

She could have damaged something or hurt your spleen.

It's been at least a month...can you see a doc?

I have very similar symptoms for several years which I still haven't figured out. It was gone for a year or so but not completely, and recently it's back again when I started to treat Lyme disease.

I have a recent test of VIP with HIGH value that a GI doctor suspect it's pancrease related.

I don't know where to go get it checked? Is it Lyme related?

Had the same problem and it took me years to identify the cause. This is babesiosis attacking the spleen. There's a citation somewhere. Let's see if I can find it. It's something about "upper left quadrant pain" which is what you describe. Sorry, can't find it right now.

Page 26 of Burrascano describes babesia symptoms. Rarely, babs causes an enlarged spleen, called splenomegaly. Your pain is where the spleen is located.

So, call the doctor who ordered your test and find out if the spleen is enlarged.

Here is just one website that discusses an enlarged spleen:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003276.htm

Here is another:

http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/enlarged-spleen-causes-symptoms-and-treatments

Type the word "splenomegaly" into Google and read all about it.

Here is the quote from Burrascano:

BABESIA SPECIES-
.
.
· Dizziness- more like a tippy feeling, and not vertigo or purely orthostasis.
· Symptoms cycle rapidly, with flares every four to six days.
· Hypercoaguable states are often associated with Babesia infections.
· Rarely, splenomegaly (page 26)

I have the same kind of pain & in the upper left quadrant. At times the right quadrant (liver) is affected too.

This has come about, oddly enough, with more ABX usage. Before ABX, I did not have those pains.

I never tested positive for babs, but I have many of the clinical symptoms. At the time when I first got chronically sick the scans showed slightly enlarged spleen.

I have thought about the cause & also concluded it to be the result of babesia based upon my readings.

My body was able to fight it for years & my spleen cleared out the infected red blood cells,up until the point where it got clogged & my spleen could no longer filter out RBC's as efficiently.

Could also be from candida/yeast.

I just wanted to put it out there that the pain you might be feeling is chest wall pain and not organ pain. I have felt exactly what you are describing and my blood work for liver and pancreas was fine. BUT, what I did find was that if I had sore spots between the ribs ( found out that the little creeps osort of like those spots to hang out in) and that when you push on the spot it replicates what you think is the organ hurting! It sort of a chostocondritis ( inflammation in the rib spacers) and really mimics the other. Now...what to do? I like my heating pad and Ben Gay...but, most of all you have to try and kill the bug that is there! It's just a thought..but, maybe will ease your mind a bit while you check back with your GP to make sure. Hope. This is helpful.

Well I stay pretty much sore all over. My chest and ribs are the worst. If you press on my ribs i'd probably flatten you!

I hate to be touched. Arms and upper body bad.

One.doctor wanted to give me lyrica and I said no. He said I had "extremely bad fibro"....yeah right doc....
