Hi guys!

If you have done genetic testing through 23andme, I HIGHLY recommend spending the extra $5 and running your 23andme info through Promethease. I just did and found out lots of new info.

(Ex. I have a bad gene for Vascular Ehlers Danlos. I would have NEVER thought about that. I'm just scratching the surface with my report, but it's very much worth the $5.)

Um, be careful of that site. It asks for certificate identity. Not usually cool.

I'd be interested in what it tells you, though.

There's a site called http://geneticgenie.org that analyzes your 23andme info and basically spits out the Yasko results from it. I double checked it against my Yasko tests, and results were identical. Would have been much cheaper. They also have a detox panel, but it's a little over my head. It's a donation site, so you can give $ if you want to, don't have to.

What's that mean?

I've done geneticgenie and mthfrsupport. This report was different.

Michael, thanks for that site. It is so simple even I can figure it out - and it gives you the results I paid $500 for and waited 3 months!!!

This is a gold mine!

I got my detox panel but I don't know what it means. Any place where I can get it interpreted?

nefferdun: Can you enter the rsid# into Snpedia.com?

mthfrsupport.com $20 also translates the raw data and gives a few more snps than geneticgenie. Then Promethease $5 gives even more.

I have done all 3 and have a lot to research.

Livewello also does something similar, but I haven't used it.

I just did my detox panel and tried to search what it meant online. I was surprised to discover one snp is connected to poly cystic ovary syndrome, which my daughter was diagnosed with and which I now realize I had.

This is connected to thyroid function. Both of us tested normal but benefited from thyroid supplementation. It was so hard to get a doctor to prescribe it. So this is a wealth of information.

I have 3 times higher risk of non-smoking lung cancer and colorectal cancer.

I have an appointment with a NP today that I know does hydrogen peroxide IV, something that freaks me out. According to my detox panel I would not be able to tolerate this - very good thing to know so I can't be talked into it!

Thanks you guys!! This site is such a life savor.

I am going to do 23andMe.

If I want this extra information, do I need to order it when I order my kit from 23andMe ?

Or is it separate, and I order it after I get my results ?

Does anyone have a recommendation of which site to run the raw data through to get the methylation enzymes info?

LuluBelle, 23andme is not currently doing any health reports, only genealogy stuff. There have several posts about it on this site.

Hey Robin,

Has genetic genie already pulled their analysis? I know it was happening this week.

Here's the thread I started on this topic.
