I'll be taking Plaquinel with Rifampin and mino and most likely stay with Crypto/Sida/Alchonrnia blend

Just so you are prepared, Rifampin usually affects hormones. It can also reduce the effectiveness of thyroid medication and Mepron.

Usually if you are on one of those two medications, you need to increase your dosage untll you come off the Rifampin.

I had to increase my thyroid meds, increase my Mepron and reduce my bio identical hormones. Once off the Rifampin I went back to the usual dose and had blood work done to make sure those levels were at least back to what they were before starting Rifampin.

Rifampin was good for me as far as kicking Bart in the can.

Hi Faithful!

How long were you on Rifampin? I am on it now and am trying to take it away from my other Meds-

Thank you for sharing about the effects Rifampin has on other drugs. I was trying to understand what the "fine print" was saying about its enzyme actions, but my brain just couldn't understand it.

I just knew it does something to other Meds but I didn't know what. Do you or does anyone know what it does to Flucozanole (Diflucan)? Less effective or more? I'll try a pharmacist in the meantime.

Thank you!

Hey Greta, I was on Rifampin about a year and a half ago - I was improving on it, but unfortunately babs came back with a vengeance, so I had to abandon it to get back on babs meds. Story of my life haha. I've been doing the Bart/Babs dance for a looooong time.

Thanks for the info faithful!!
