Ok...I have probably had Bart, ehrlicia, and babesia since 1984 but, dx 2007. Did the mepron...did the doxy..did the zith..and then the abx for the Bart blew out my knee that required a total knee replacement 3 months ago. NOW, I am having all the neuro symptoms of Bart ( that act surprisingly..not..like ALS) and I have been freaked out. Prayed about it and decided to try again. It, where? I have had trouble with TIA -like speech, swallowing, muscle tics ( no pun) and the most horrible groin/muscle,pain WITH swollen lymph nodes that hurt so bad that I can barely walk! I went back,to the knee dr and he just shrugged his shoulders. I went to him because I thought he was sympathetic to Lyme because his daughter was dx with it. he wasn't satisfied with her care for it and he decided she didn't have it..so my plight fell on sort of deaf ears. I have just been maintaining on pain medicine. I realize this is going to take me down if I don't try again...SO..please,help me know where to START again..and fast. Would prefer herbal...but,..THANKS to anyone who can tell me how to try again! I feel,so lousy! God bless! L [bonk] [confused]

I need to say also that I am having trouble with shallow breathing and feeling like I have a vice around my ribs and pain in various spaces between my ribs. Help! And...What do any of you guys think about the diagnosis? I had the 22 vials of blood test 4 years ago...sent to Ca...BUT have been thinking that I should be retested to see what is still alive. Any thoughts in that idea? Thanks again!L

Breathing tightness points to babesia. Find a new LLMD and get started. Diagnosis wise as you know the tests are not reliable enough. Check in finding a doc if you don't have anyone in mind to care for you.

Yes, you need to see an LLMD as soon as possible.

Buhner's new coinfection book on Bart is great, and would be a good investment.

I am battling Bart currently, and he's one tough you-know-what!

Rifampin and another abx can hit Bart...and won't lead to tendon damage like cipro et al.

You should look for an ILADS doc (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society). ILADs docs are cutting edge when it comes to lyme and company. Greta's suggestion of Buhner's new book is a good idea as well.

Babs is nothing to ignore, especially with difficulty swallowing. You can post here in Seeking and/or go to www.lymediseaseassociation.org. I would look for an LLMD who also uses herbs in his or her protocol.

I strongly suggest you consider treating for parasites too (now would be a good time since you don't have a doc). Babs is a parasite and IMO, anti parasitic herbs and meds help to knock it back.

We all have parasites, lyme patients just seem to have more of them. There are several anti parasitic over the counter formulas for you to choose from. You can also visit THE PARASITE WARRIOR'S SUPPORT THREAD here for more info. It's a great thread.

You all are great! I thought I had been treated for the babesia with the doxy...wrong? Yikes!....I am so confused! but, will check out the things you suggested! My old LLD quir taking insurance and wouldn't see anyone unless you paid by the minute ($7/ minute minimum 10 minute AND they set a timer and would knock on the door for a two minute warning!) The othe LLD was just indicted for med insurance fraud and can't practice anymore. I'm out of drs in KC and can't travel. Know of anyone in the KC area? I did have many mesquite bites this summer..couldI be reinfected? What did you guys think of the retesting idea...even thigh they aren't great..but for a grand out of pocket they should mean something! Thank you all for responding! Also...what is the best but also easiest protocol With which to start? Oh..I have a box of Para contro...is that a good one? Also...do you know anyone that has used the rife system after having a knee replacement? I have metal in there now...doesn't it heat things up? Ok...going for now...I appreciate all of,you more than I can say! God bless you all! L

Reinfected or relapsed, simply?

It does sound babesia to me too.

You can try to buy the two books of Buhner, to start on herbs before you get a diagnosis?
