If my entire tic panel all came back normal or negative and the igg and iga are all normal, could I still be infected?
The most recent dr I saw said that if the igg and iga are normal then I most likely do not have any tic illnesses, etc.
I thought he was a jerk, but now I'm not so clear on those two items. Anyone?
*I did test positive back in may of 2010 and had ticks pulled off my scalp my entire childhood. My present symptoms indicate Lyme or a coinfection as everything else has been eliminated.

He's basically wrong because MANY have technically negative IgG's and IgM's .. HOWEVER, they have LYME-SPECIFIC bands in those IgG's and IgM's.
So yes, you can have Lyme and have a negative test. That is one reason a GOOD LAB is important. The BANDS that show up can tell another story in and of themselves.
Lyme is a CLINICAL diagnosis anyway .. meaning that an LLMD will diagnose you on SYMPTOMS, exposure (to ticks) and testing.

Sugarjoe-I am no doctor and just learning about lyme and co but everything I read from ILADS docs say that initial lyme treatment shouldd be longer than three weeks.
I feel that because this last doc was a jerk to you, perhaps the doc dismissed the lyme dx before the test results even came in...I've had a few docs like that. Very rude, almost dismissive.
Can you post in seeking and find an llmd near you?
I think there's a good chance lyme has gone chronic.

Greta, I have the next supposed llmd on my to call list today to schedule an appt. This one is my last hope. After him I will be forced to go out of my insurance and out of state to see a NP but can't afford it until after the new year. That's that.
