I just started treatment and before treatment my bun/creatinine ratio was 11 and one month into treatment it jumped to 22 (top end of normal is 20). This is a measure of your kidney function.
Has anyone else experienced this? I am going to call LLMD tomorrow, she didn't mention anything about it at our appointment.
Has anyone experienced kidney problems while taking ABX? I also had a occult blood in my urine (+2) which I have never had before. I do not or never have had a UTI.
Thanks!

Are you taking any babesia meds? The blood in your urine could be a sign of babesia.
I think it depends a lot on which meds you are taking as to how they would affect your kidneys. A lot of the tickborne infections do like to attack the kidneys.
And yes, it is a good idea to call the doc and monitor your kidney function closely going forward.
Don't know your age, but that is also a big factor in kidney function.

Being dehydrated will affect kidney labs. Make sure you are drinking lots of water.
