I am currently on sulfamethaxozole and rifampin for Lyme. I have also been presscribed Cymbalta to manage my pain but have not started it yet.
I thought I read somewhere that you should consult with a doctor before taking Cymbalta while on antibiotics. But I looked at the instruction sheets for both antibiotics and for Cymbalta and don't see any evidence of adverse drug-drug interactions. My pharmacist also checked in a computer and said there were no interactions between Cymbalta and the other two.
Does anyone know more about this? Thanks.

A pharmacist is the best one to ask about Rx interactions. I was on Cymbalta for years, and I love it; I don't remember whether I was on antibiotics at all during that time, however.

I take both and do fine. No interactions, so far as I know.
How bad is your pain? I have heard that Cymbalta is really hard to get off of (did not know this until I was already taking it). Though you CAN open the capsule and dump out some of the "beads" inside.
If your pain is bad enough to justify using it, I say go for it. If you can manage it with heating pads/ice/sauna/Epsom salt baths/etc, that may be better. Just my opinion, though!
Best wishes to you, and hope you have a great day.
