I'm currently being treated (with doxy) by an infectious disease doctor- middle of the road in terms of treating chronic Lyme. I have a LLMD I am ready to see but my out of network insurance doesn't kick in until the new year. My insurance would help financially but I'd like to be under the care of an LLMD.
What would you do? Wait 7 weeks for an appt. or no?

The cost of the first visit would cover my out of network deductible… That's a big deal. But then again not really knowing if I'm being treated correctly is a big deal to, you know?

Plus you will have plenty of follow-up appts to cover the deductible.
Also, say the Dr charges $1000 for the 1st visit. The insurance will only apply the amount they would pay for a visit to a regular Dr to the deductible. Ex. Around $300.

Yes I have an appointment for early January Scheduled. For the first month I was on 100 MG of doxycycline twice per day and then I was increased last week to 150 MG twice a day… Which made me herx so bad.

I you feel that the current I.D. will keep you on 300mg of doxy until January, when you have your appointment with an LLMD than it probably is okay to wait. At least you are treating it for the time being until you can get better care.
You can even supplement with additional herbals and cyst busting supplements until January.
