Hello Everyone, I have been on 250 mg of biaxin and two tablets of malarone twice a day since September 17th. Two days ago, the doctor increased my biaxin to 750 mg a day. In general, I have intermittent episodes of light tachicardia, but 12 hours after taking the extra dose of Biaxin, I suddenly developed a very sharp pain between the ribs in the middle front part of the chest, immediately followed by a very bad irregular heartbeat. I also have had a violent headache for the last 2 days. I am not sure if the increased biaxin is the culprit or if this would have happened anyway. I stopped everything yesterday and am worried to start again - even the lower dose. Has anyone experience this type of reaction with biaxin?

I would talk with your local pharmacist and call your LLmd as soon as possible.

Make sure you do not take Diflucan while on Biaxin.

I am struggling with stuff I believe was caused by Biaxin myself. Bad irregular heartbeats (I stopped biaxin this past wednesday, so almost a week ago... the last 48 hours I have had more irregular heartbeat than I've had in years. No Joke. I just found out tonight that biaxin can cause issues with the heart. I feel rather cheated. I wouldnt have went on the stuff if anyone would have told me that. I just dont get it.
