Last night, gave myself a bicillin injection. Within 30 seconds I got really dizzy, chest hurt badly, and time seemed suspended in slow motion as I saw white light and lost vision and nearly passed out. Luckily, I didn't quite pass out and within a few minutes the wost passed. It was a "this is serious" type moment.
However, today I am not feeling that great.
I had aspirated as normal and didn't get any blood. I suspect, I nicked a vessel and upon the pressure of injection or pulling out, it got in the vein.
This was scary I've been on bicillin injections for the past few years and have given myself hundreds of injections, this is my first problem ever....I always asperate, to check!
Anyways. My question is, what does one do in one of these cases other then wait it out and calling 911? Is there something that will calm this bad reaction? If I had actually dropped over and my heart quit, I doubt EMS would get here before before I was a goner.

I doubt you got much into your bloodstream if any. Bacillin is often given by IV anyway and the amount you could have gotten into a vein anyway would probably be small.
My one concern is if you are developing an allergic reaction to this drug? Sometimes allergy takes time to develop. That is what I'd be thinking. Talk to your doc before you do another injection and let him help you to figure it out.

If you aspirated and didn't see blood then I doubt you were in a vein. If the needle moved slightly while you were injecting and you hit a vein you pulled the needle out you would have seen a good amount of blood come out from the injection site.
It seems like it could have been a reaction to the bicillin. You can suffer an allergic reaction to a med even if you have taken it many times before. I always kept an epi pen nearby just in case.

It did. Allot of blood came out when I removed the needle (think of dripping on the floor like).

Wow, that's scary. I hope you are able to get an answer about what you should do if it happens again. I would call your doctor and let them know before you try another one. Or at least do it with somebody else around so that they can call for help if needed.
I've gotten a lot of blood after a B12 injection in my leg a few times (dripping/dark nearly black blood). In my case, I don't think I was in a vein though. I think that the supplements/herbs that I'm on thin my blood too much.

I dont think that dark blood is a good sign. You need to have bright red blood. It shows a depleated state of oxygen and toxicity.

I had a similar experience with IM bicillin injections. My husband had been giving them to me, then one time he obviously hit a vein because about 5 to 10 seconds after the shot I couldn't breathe and became dizzy.
After about another 10 or so seconds, I had extreme pain travel down my spinal cord from my neck down to my tail bone. At that point we called 9-1-1
We tried to continue to do the shots afterwards which lasted about 2 weeks when my LLMD took me off of them.
I have mixed feelings because I was actually feeling like I was improving, but my husband and I were scared to do them after that one incident.
I would go back on it again if I could get over the fear. Just be careful and if they were helping don't stop.

I just wanted to add to my reply up above. If you feel like you have been on it too long and it's not really helping, maybe try IV antibiotics instead.
