My PCP's office called and said my HIDA scan was normal, but they are referring me to a GI doc. I asked what the rate is because I have all the typical gallbladder signs.
Rate is 88%.
After researching, I find this is actually high and causes an overactive gallbladder. What are my options? Do I need to seek a surgeon myself. I simply cannot tolerate these symptoms.

Have you had an ultra sound to see if there are stones or sludge? Are you on rocephin? Have you been having gall bladder attacks (nausea, sweating, fainting, extreme pain in the gall bladder, vomiting)?
I do know that carefully done liver/gallbladder flushes helped me a lot. But they didn't solve the problem and I eventually had mine out. But I have problems from that too!
That is a very high rate. You need to make sure that there is no blockage in the ducts, also, which you can tell somewhat by ultra sound, but better with an MRI.
Yes, you need a good GI doc. Not all of them are good with this, so get a recommendation if you can. Or look at their info and reviews online.

I had all the symptoms of gall bladder issues. But normal blood work, ultrasound and hida scan. I had lost a lot of weight and was in tremendous pain. Finally, my GI discussed with me having it removed based on symptoms. I felt so much better after. Apparently it was full of sludge. I was lucky to have a great GI doc.
So I would recommend seeing GI. Hang in there. I recovered quickly from surgery too!

Ultrasound did not show anything. I have never taken rocephin. The gallbladder attacks I have experienced were not debilitating pain but like a scale of 7/10. I have extreme nausea, some sweating, yellow stools, and extreme chills just starting today. Things usually clear up in a week or so and don't hit again for a few months, but it's much worse this time around.
I am scheduled to see a GI doc tomorrow.
I am actually terrified of backsliding if I do have surgery because I have been off abx for 1 year now and just doing Cowden and rife Either way...it's a no win situation. God is in control and all I can do is pray.
Thank you, Rumigirl and didogs.
