So I'm at a new point. I've had what I thought was lyme for 3 years now. I quit antibiotics too early the first 2 times out of lack of funds. I relapsed again in April after my job contract ran out and fears came in. Started treating again in May. I've had lymph nodes in the arms, side of breasts and groin areas pop up but apparently not large enough to be abnormal. These wax and wane. The surgeon felt around and said that he thinks these are probably from the infection too. Not sure why I have these by one breast and not the other and it's worrying me. My blood tests are normal as well as CRP and SED, so inflammation has disappeared from May. I feel pretty dang good except for mild joint/muscular pain. Could I have had bartonella for 3 years and just gotten these symptoms just lately? I did get a bullseye rash 3 years ago, no cat but had 2 dogs up till 4 years ago. What should I do to fight this stuff? I've been on a lot of different antibiotics. Just finished Rifampin which helped a lot and now on Cipro and doxy (2nd time). I haven't done herbs in awhile because of money and have never done antiparasitics yet because of money. I can ask for help from family but I need to know what is absolutely essential for me to be taking to give them reason enough to help. Thanks!!!

O GROAN! Bartonella!
Bartonella is terrible!
Ok, so what I know about Bart (not much, personal experience and Buhner's book)...
Cats and dogs...well that's the "outdated" transmission route.
It's actually sand flies, fleas, chiggers, biting flies, mosquitoes and ticks that transmit Bart.
Bartonella doesn't necessarily do the "bull's eye rash" (that's mostly lyme), but Bart can do all sorts of crazy rashes, some streaky, some spotty. Mine was big lesions about the size of a nickel all over my body.
Bartonella "rage". (Ever fly off the handle? Then in half hour, you're fine-not angry any more?)...
Buhner's new book has a great herbal protocol for Bart. Lots of herbs, (too many and too expensive for me currently). Worth the read if you wish to go the natural route.
So far I have taken Rifampin and mino, and Rifampin and zith.
I don't know about cipro personally, as I get tendon issues from that class of abx.
A-Bart seems to be good for cleaning up residual Bart.
Hopefully others will chime in soon.
And I know what you mean of the lymphnodes. The ones in my left armpit are worse.
( Apparently, the left side of the lymph system does the majority of the body. The right side of the lymph system does only the chest and the right arm. )

Yeah and weirdly my bladder is much better since I started new abx so that makes sense. It is my left side that the nodes are flaring on so that is consistent as well.

My bladder was bothering me so much, I've gone as far as to have a cystoscopy done (b/c my father had bladder cancer).
It turned out clean and they diagnosed me with interstitial cystitis.

Cipro definitely kills Bartonella - I've mentioned to you before nodules coming up indicating toxin build up-
I have had a lot of improvement from treating Bartonella aggressively, but then my gut got 'bad' or 'worse' and symptoms from this did confuse me-
Now I am cleaning up/ treating my gut with Paleo diet, natural yeast fighters, and adding more fats, including coconut oil 3x a day and it is healing me, and my brain.
There is a lot to do for Bartonella - Zhang HH-2 capsules (Houttonyia herb) beyond balance and/ or Byron White tinctures
for Bartonella, Buhner herb protocol for Bartonella -- I worked on it consistently for over 2 years with all of the above,
and antibiotics, including Levaquin. My recent bladder problems were do to gut dysbiosis - getting better, d- mannose daily I think is helping too.
Gut dysbiosis included for me parasites as well as yeast- I had to completely overhaul my diet 100% I also treated parasites for a long time.
Improvements I've had from treating Bartonella/ Lyme: My mind is clearer, memory is much improved, 90-95% of the time I am anxiety free (no longer on anti- depressants) Headaches decreased significantly, etc.
It's hard, some days are dark on the journey, but keep going, it can get better. Sometimes it's layers, and we find the next one.
