My adult grandson has babesia... fever etc but his ins co won't pay for the $400 med.

They paid for 2 inexpensive meds for Lyme but not the expensive med.

The pharmacy gave him 2 days worth of the med for Babs.

How important is this med?

Plaquenil is pretty cheap, mine is $30 a month. My doc likes to pulse CoArtem, which is about $150 a month from a Canadian pharmacy-I can't always afford even that.

You need to always let your doc know that you have a financial issue, sometimes they can change the drugs; but it's up to you to know what your insurance covers and how much. Check out Canadian pharmacies too, sometimes they are less than your co-pays.
