Wondering if Bart can be successfully treated with one abx. My LLMD said Doxy alone might do the trick for my Bart inf.

From what I've read here, Bart is usually treated with a combo of meds. So, I'm concerned if I don't hit this inf. hard enough at start of treatment it'll develop a resistance.

Doc also has me on some supplements, but none that directly addresses infections. They are geared more toward minimizing inflammation and supporting natural immune system.

I don't think so. Never heard of doxy being the main drug for bart.

In my experience, absolutely not.

I had three months of doxy, most with tinidazole, then added biaxin, then switched to minocycline.

None of those even touched bart for me.

But when rifampin was combined with mino. Bingo! Then zith was added in. Double Bingo.

thx..that's what I thought. don't know what doc is thinking..he did say I have bart, babs, and erlichia, and suspects mycoplasma too. So, I don't know why I'm only doing doxy. Maybe it's just how he begins treatments. I just began. Oh well, I guess I'll see.

Doxy does seem to have some action against it, but alone it is insufficient to clear a bart infection imo. Ive taken doxy alone for many weeks, no result. Ive taken minocyclin with azi for many months, with only little improvement.

Recently ive started rifampin + mino, and that finally seems to give progression with bart symptoms.
