Does anyone have any suggestions on how to better enjoy the holidays? Is it okay to cut back on a medication (i.e. flagyl, minocin, or biaxin) and start back up after xmas, and if so would it help?

Don't overdue things. Try to pace yourself. It is easy to do too much if you are around a lot of family or friends. Just do what you can and try not to eat too many bad things!

Hi Schlozie,
I wish I had some suggestions, but I am cranky already...the holidays haven't even started yet...argh.
But don't cut back on the meds. Keep going, and abstain from alcohol.

Just try and happy around everyone, and try your best to enjoy every moment; that's all you can do!

My advice: learn to say no. It's hard. There is a another whole layer of stress with the holidays, getting ready,
people's expectations, mental checklists, this done that done. I've had to pull back in a few areas where I normally give myself
and my time. Things I enjoy, but I'm stressed. Outside family event happened, scary school incident, I need more time for my healing diet to make food and gather it,
so I pulled in and got quiet. I do feel 'bad', but it's life right now, and even explaining it to others is taxing. Healing on the inside often takes changes on the outside, like slowing down for less stress you can manage.
As for the day itself, or a kids party, I just show up. I don't put on the whole show. Sit in a chair, enjoy watching the others- don't overextend my time to late in evening or stay too long.
And shop on the Internet ;-). The malls in the crowds sink me fast. If have to hit a store, I go real early at opening, in and out.
If in full treatment mode, you have to rest more, IMO.
