So sorry to hear you are having such a rough time!

Is it possible you are allergic to it? I'd certainly check out that possibility ASAP. Especially if it gets any worse.

In the meantime, try to not worry. I am not a genius, but I do know that worry doesn't cure Lyme or any other infectious diseases. At least it didn't for me!

Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Here is a picture of the location of some of the lymph nodes.

I share this because the lymph nodes can make you miserable in the area you mentioned above. This can be made much worse while herxing.

PB8 on amazon for probiotics. It's the cheapest I've found that works for me.

You can also add Saccharomyces Boulardi to it (keep it in the fridge when you get it). I found Nutricology brand to be cheapest on Amazon too.

Take 2 pills of each, 2 hours away from antibiotics with food or a snack.

The combo has kept my gut good. No tummy issues.

Also sulfamethoxazole is a sulfa-med. A lot of people are allergic to sulfa. I get a bad rash when I take it. My face and neck swell up.

If you start swelling up and getting a rash, call the doc. You might need to change antibiotics.

PB8 is nearly worthless. Very weak.

Custom Probiotics is cheaper when you figure the CFU counts!!

PB8 is 7 billion CFU's per pill** and Custom is 50 billion and 90 capsules per bottle. Do the math.

**not sure it's even that high

This sounds like an allergy. Allergies to sulfa antibiotics are common and can be very severe with lasting scarring from the rashes, especially if you keep taking it.

I have an allergy to Bactrim and it started with a small rash, and then it got a lot worse, because it was not recognized as an allergy for a while. I had been taking it for months without issue but allergies can crop up anytime.

Not everything is a herx or a Lyme symptom.

Please talk with your doctor and in the meantime don't take any more.

TuTu said.. "PB8 is nearly worthless. Very weak."

I can't speak directly to the PB8, as I am not familiar with that particular brand. However...

Some of us, especially perhaps those with the MTHFR mutations, can have great difficulty taking the "loaded" probiotics with billions of various germs in it. They make me awfully sick, want to die sick, so the lower doses are my only choice.

I also believe (can't prove) once the immune system is shot the "germs" from probiotics that you put in your system are just that, more germs for the body to deal with. This may add to the problems some have with the many varied types of germs in the high dollar probiotics. ???

The good news is, there are no gut issues for me while using low dose probiotics after 25 plus years. (Knock on wood.)

My point, I believe it is an individual thing and each person is different. Not everyone can handle the heavy doses and billions of germs, nor can they afford the cost of those high dollar probiotics. And sometimes the basic low cost probiotics do the job.
