I know many of you feel this way... I just don't want to run to a dr... If it's nothing serious... Or JUST Lyme, lol.
Back story: I recently, 2 months ago had vertigo, turned out to be a double ear infection. I had no pain, until I started Bactrim. And I had a little fullness feeling in my glands/jaws. Everything else felt terrific til I got a rash and stopped the bactrim after a month. ( Oh by the way... I had done heavy abx for 18 months for Lyme and Bart....I had been off abx for a year before challenging with zyth, then got ear infection so switched to the Bactrim)
Since then, this feeling in my glands/jaw/in front of my ears/temples and muscle pain at the base of my head has gotten progressively worse... It all feels like swollen glands... but my actual glands are not swollen.
I had this feeling early on in my Lyme journey 20 years before Dx or abx. And I felt it like immediately and intensely when I tried rifampin... That and other things made me stop.
But somehow, I don't really feel this is Lyme and co related...could be denial... But my gut just says something else... What would be the possibilities?

I have a place on the side of my neck, just below where the jaw bone turns up toward the ear. It seems to throb at times. Doc said gland not swollen. I had thought of blocked carotid artery when it first came to my attention. Years ago, early in lyme, had an ultrasound of carotids, clear even after years of fried chicken and butter. So, this might have changed since then, and a blocked carotid is bad news.
My impression is that take serrapeptase helps, as do antibiotics. Wondering if this is a symptom of hypercoagulation, caused by infection.

Could be a sinus infection. Your head has a variety of cavities in your face and connecting to your ears. Any of these can get become infected and sometimes are protected by a cyst structure. See if your doctor will do an MRI. Mine was very obvious on my MRI and was corrected by endoscopic surgery. The cysts can protect the bacteria from antibiotics. Just one possibility.

TMJ? Are you possibly grinding your teeth at night? Tension related?
