Ok, I am on Cowden, month three. I like this program and I am herxing regularly, so it must be doing something!! I dunno if it will treat my co's, but given my yeast issues I am reluctant to get on the antibiotics the LLMD first rx'd me.

I have purchased some products, supplements that I want to take for cysts, biofilm etc., These are not part of Cowden protocol and I am worried they may interfere with it.

Anyone know if I can take:
1) GSE
2) Interfase Plus while on Cowden? I was worried about the EDTA blocking something.

I also have huge yeast issues, so I take Fluconazole 100 mg at least once weekly, often twice a week.

I cycle on/off Nystatin powder (capsules). Six 500,000 U capsules per day.

I do methyl B12 injections, and take what seems to be scads of meds and vitamins. I take one or more of the following meds every day, Naproxen, Advil, Celebrex, Tylenol Arthritis, Percocet.

I take Ester-C vitamin C, vitamin D drops from Metagenics, and Custom Probiotics (high potency).

I have Quercetin, and Fibroboost to take for herxes too.

I can't help but feel I am putting too many things down my throat, and that I may be blocking some of the herbs.

Anyone have advice???

Just my guess, but I can't see why any of these would counteract anything on the Cowden support., as long as they are taken away from the Cowden herbs by thirty minutes.
If fibreboost is a binder, dr C does caution against them for obvious reasons, but you could try taking it in the middle of the night, for example.

I think most people on the protocol take similar extra stuff, to be frank. If you are concerned, you could email Nuramedix or try asking dr c on Facebook.

I never could handle alcohol tinctures in much of a quantity. Not everyone can "do" this sort of plan.

And, it's not so much the quantity, though, as the instant my brain senses any, my body seems to go into some kind of red alert mode. Even in 1/2 cup of water, which is pretty standard. So be sure you are getting enough water dilution and that might make a difference. Still, this just might not be the right plan for your body.

I don't know how to phrase this . . . you say:

"I take one or more of the following meds every day, Naproxen, Advil, Celebrex, Tylenol Arthritis, Percocet." (end quote)

I would never be able to tolerate any of those, not even one. Now, I know you must be in tremendous pain. Still, most of those can cause more pain, much more than most of us know.

Tylenol. Acetaminophen, even a small dose can literally destroy the liver, damage the lungs and stop all cells in the body from being able to have the proper flow in and out. It blocks glutathione from all cells, and then they just can't flush out the old stuff to make way for the new.

Advil. Ibuprofen causes constriction of blood vessels. this can cause kidney damage and it's not good for any part or system of the body.

Naproxen gave me an bleeding ulcer. The others, too, have had warnings and side effects.

Alcohol is not to be taken with most of these, especially with any acetaminophen. So, to be on a plan with alcohol tinctures can cause more liver stress and even damage.

I'm sorry that your doctors have not discussed this with you. I'm also sorry that so many of the Rx for pain have such damaging effects. and the combination of all those is highly suspect for why you feel worse.

I know that pain is major and something has to be done to help. It's just that the Rx that are usually given can cause so many more problems.

Is there anyway you could find a LL ND (naturopathic doctor) to help you figure out other ways to address and manage the pain and get off of the Rx?

When I first got severe muscle aches and joint pains this summer, before I knew I had lyme, I took Naproxin, which as prescription Anaprox had helped heal pulled muscles years before.

Naproxin helped for ONE day, and then did not touch my pain.

I started turmeric and garlic when I read that most of our pain is from inflammation, and turmeric stops the inflammation, so reduced or no pain.

It has worked for me for over 6 months now. Why don't you try it instead of those over-the-counter pain killers with the bad side effects?

It is cheap and effective, and has only one slight side effect, it can slightly reduce your blood pressure if taken in large quantity.

Just a food, and amazing.
