Forgot to ask my LLMD this at my most recent visit...is this combination appropriate? I know MT interacts with certain herbs and antibiotics, but it really helps me. Thanks!

Google also didn't produce many results

Do still take it. Liver support is absolutely vital, required, necessary, etc. Glad it helps you feel better.

Because liver support helps the liver work better, it can sometimes move out Rx and supplements too soon if taken too close together in time.

Usually best to take liver support separate from "direct action" Rx for sure -- and probably also away from "direct action" herbs (although this may not be the case for all herbal combinations). Take it removed in timing until you see your doctor again and then ask.

You could also read up on its use in the ILADS educated LL ND articles and books here:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/2/13964

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

Etc. . . articles & books . . . .;

Milk Thistle is not the only liver support on the block, either. Just good to know the range of options & good to rotate from time to time:

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

^great post Keebler. In your opinion, how far should I try to spread MT from antibiotics or direct action herbs? I've been trying to aim for 2 hours or more, hope that's enough

I'm not sure. I don't do well with numbers. I'd feel better if you could get professional advice or consult an article / book by a LL ND on the timing.

Probably two hours is okay if MT is taken with some food. That way, there will be less of a "rush" in the liver.

Ah, I don't take it with food for very often. I'll look into this. Thank you.
