I read this about antibiotics in an article about heart disease on the AARP website and thought I would share it:

3. Antibiotics
If you already have heart disease or have a history of cardiovascular woes in your family history, taking the antibiotic azithromycin (or Z-Pak antibiotics) will put you at higher risk of a future heart attack. If you have a gene pool that’s rife with heart issues, talk to your doctor about prescribing an azithromyicn-free drug the next time you fall ill.

I found these 2 in a quick google search

Zithromax antibiotics tied to rare heart risks
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/zithromax-antibiotics-tied-to-rare-heart-risks/

FDA Drug Safety Communication: Azithromycin (Zithromax or Zmax) and the risk of potentially fatal heart rhythms
http://www.fda.gov/drugs/drugsafety/ucm341822.htm

Yes, Zithromax is often used for lyme and babesia.

Yes... the info on that was posted here. You could probably find it in a search.
(to see the discussion)

Also .. do not take Diflucan with zithromax.
