I met with my LLNP today and I am now to take 5 antibiotics - doesn't that seem like a lot?

Cefdinir, Bactrim, Mino, Rifampin, and tindamax (pulsing).

Maybe this is standard in treatmet, but just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were!

Rifampin is often paired with a tetra. It needs always to be taken with another abx.

Mino is a tetra.

Mino will help with any neuro lyme. It crosses the bbb.

Bactrim and rifampin both will help to kill bart.

Tinidazole helps round body forms. Is normally pulsed.

Ceft is good for lyme. Intracellular? (I think...?)

Sounds like a great combo, imho.

3 was my very min, 4 was my average.

Are you getting regular kidney and liver tests also?

Do you have neuro lyme/twitching?

Also, did your LL give you any good detox avdice?

We started on 5 or more abx. Depends on what coinfections you are treating.

It sounds like way too much, especially if you are going to start taking them all at once.

"Shotgun therapy" rarely works and can cause a lot of problems, especially with the
immune system (ie autoimmune neuropathy), not to mention drug interactions.

It is a lot, but very common. Proceed slowly with each one. My LLNP had me start one, wait 3 days then start the next one and so on. This way if you have a reaction you know to which one.

That being said it will be a huge blow to your gut. Be sure to take probiotics and eat a clean diet.

Some people take even more than that. Be vigilant, but don't be scared. You could make some huge progress!

I've been on those (except sub mino for zithro and ag for tindimax).

Great combo - I'd do it. Especially if treating Bart.

Most LLMD's have you start one drug at a time adding in a new one every few days.

Sounds pretty normal for lyme and co-infection treatment. [Wink]
