Hi all, Just a quick question regarding Nystatin and Abx. I have been pretty good always taking probioitics, kefir and yogurt, but my LLMD thinks I may have candida overgrowth, I will admit I am not the best at keeping a strict diet. She wants to put me on Nystatin for a little while. Is it ok to take this with antibiotics, and if so, when should I be taking it? Thanks!!

Yes, you can take it with antibiotics. Supposedly, it is OK to take them at the same time, but I always tried to space them a bit just in case.
Diet is KEY.

Yes, I take nystatin with antibiotics. Nystatin targets candida (a yeast), which is different than what antibiotics cover.
I take mine with breakfast and dinner with doxycycline, and before bed.
No side effects or yeast issues at all that I can tell.
I would not take nystatin with saccharomyces boulardii (helps repopulate good yeast and it's in a lot of probiotics or you can take in a separate capsule).

That is good to know, I will take it with my ABX, and still keep my probiotics two hours away. Hey Canucks fan! Looking disappointing for both of our teams this year Posts: 188 | From Winnipeg | Registered: Dec 2009

Haha! Yes it surely does! I can't bring myself to watch the Canucks play these last games.
If you don't mind me asking, what were your more dominant candida symptoms?
