I tried to search through threads on this but with a pounding headache and flu like symptoms [bonk]

I need to get this yeast under control once again.

I think I'm going to do a cleanse first and then anti fungals, strict diet etc.

I just feel starting with cleanse is smart this time ~ any thoughts :/

Has anyone tried a cleanse with success

Print this out and show it to your doctor:

Antimicrob Agents Chemother. 2006 Mar;50(3):1096-9.

Potent in vitro synergism of fluconazole and berberine chloride against clinical isolates of

Candida albicans resistant to fluconazole.

Quan H1, Cao YY, Xu Z, Zhao JX, Gao PH, Qin XF, Jiang YY.

Author information

Abstract

In vitro interaction of fluconazole and berberine chloride was investigated against 40 fluconazole-resistant clinical isolates of Candida albicans.

Synergism in fungistatic activity was found with the checkerboard microdilution assay.

The findings of agar diffusion tests and time-kill curves confirmed the synergistic interaction, but no antagonistic action was observed.

PMID: 16495278

Candida can be RESISTANT. Diflucan (Rx) and Glycox look to work in synergy.

From a D-galactose perspective, candida maybe a protective move (albeit a bad one!).

Stick with me...

In this study, we demonstrated that supplementation with berberine, a plant alkaloid with a long history of medicinal usage in Chinese medicine, effectively

reverses the synaptic deficits induced by D-galactose.

No wonder Candida goes up! …

Candida abicans contains all the enzymes necessary for galactose degradation

Recent studies by other groups have demonstrated that

Borrelia burgdorferi, B. garinii, and B. afzelii

attach a D-galactose molecule to a cholesterol

molecule via β- galactosidic linkage in place of a D-glucose molecule

Put simply, the O-glycoside bond between sugar molecule and sterol molecule in H. pylori differs from the O-glycoside bond between the same two molecules in other organisms.

Candida has been found in the temporal lobes of persons with AD and amyloid beta is now considered PROTECTIVE. Once again...the body is trying to find a work-around.

Berberine chloride has MANY functions...inhibits acetylcholinesterase (!), lowers *LDL*, impacts insulin resistant cells, etc.

It is available as Glycox. Diflucan is an Rx.

For your headache...consider low dose (250mg) Ginger as it is a PDE4 inhibitor (inflammation).

Ginger works in synergy with PLP/P5P (active B6). Now (supplement company) has a great formulation...their PLP also contains Mg, Ca, and B2 (which helps the absorption of B6 - according to my nutrition book).

A NEUROLOGIST recently suggested the above combo to counter "migraine seizures" for my son.

Higher doses of Ginger make him very sleepy.

With Candida comes excess acetaldehyde which also happens after a night out on the town -> hangover headache.

Very recent research from China indicates that...get this...Sprite counters (lowers) Acetaldehyde.

Genetically, the Chinese persons have a harder time processing alcohol than we do, but still like their alcohol too. It has to do with liver enzymes, hence they had to find a work-around.

Here is one link (there are many) to the above statement:
