Hi,
Has anyone had a blue tent to their legs (both legs, the whole leg)? This is starting to happen more often. When I take a hot bath, it goes away, but then it comes back. [confused] I have anaplasmosis. I am on my third round of doxycycline.
Thanks,
Isabel

Yes, my electrophysiologist was the only one to have a theory about it. He says it's a common POTS symptom. Blood pooling from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.

I've had it since I first became infected in 2011.

That would make sense. It is totally freaking me out. Did the doctor give you any suggestions to make it better?
Thanks,
Isabel

Yes, increased salt, fluids, compression hose and med options: florinef, midodrine, beta blockers, flecainide, etc.

I go to a mainstream electrophysiologist for that. If your heart rate jumps 30 points sitting to standing or more, you may have it.

It's common with Lyme.

Not really blue legs, but each morning when I get up and even out of the shower my legs are more a purply red and are not the same color as my skin is anywhere else on my body.

It goes away later, but is concerning to me as it can't be normal.

This usually means your circulation is impaired - not uncommon in Lyme.

Hi,
I have noticed that if I drink Gatorade that it doesn't seem to happen as much. How on earth do you repair circulation? It seems like something that would just work!
Thanks for your feedback.

If gatorade is helping, it's probably POTS. Gatorade is one of the thing my electrophysiologist suggests since it's full of salt.

People with POTS sometimes have low blood volume (hypovolemia) salt and fluids help to boost blood volume.
