I have been on a pretty aggressive dose of multiple antibiotics and think I have been herxing horribly for the last 3 days - extreme fatigue , headache , brain fog , weakness - is it ok to stop meds for a few days ?

Big Stan is right.
Take a few days off.
Ramp up the detox and the probiotics during your break.
When I went through a terrible neuro herx, my doc stopped all abx for 1 week.
Recommended NT-Detox, activated charcoal and chlorella.

Is it possible to tell the difference between a herx and side effects from the antibiotics?

Well, I can't say officially, but my experiences have been:
A herx usually gets awful when I would normally have my flare days. And it is my usual symptoms, magnified by 10.
With increased detox, the symptoms become milder, "bearable".
When I had a reaction to topiramate, I had all my usual symptoms, but a completely NEW symptom emerged by my hands and feet going numb if I used them too much.
When I read the printout from the pharmacy, it was one of the side effects of topiaramate.
Do you have the printouts from the pharmacy for your meds?
Obviously, swollen tongue throat, wheezing breathing, swelling limbs, full body hives are all the usual symptoms of a serious allergic reaction. You should stop them and seek medical attention if those are your symptoms.
Best wishes, Greta

I know lenny meant break, as in take a break from abx. But the first thing that popped into my mind was those bumper stickers that say: I brake for......
So maybe we could have a sticker that says: I brake for herxheimer reactions. Bet you would get some honks and thumbs up for that one.
