That is very weird. I bought a five gallon bucket of it and used it for over a year (for my horses actually). It was fine just sitting out all that time.

What a bummer.

I noticed little dark spots in my coconut oil that I keep in the kitchen in a little dish. Didn't know what it was. I googled 'can coconut oil get mold in it" Apparently, if you get water in the oil it can get mold and bacteria.
Yikes! I have been putting it on my back. It needs to be kept in a cool dark place and covered. If your hands are wet when you dip in the oil it becomes contaminated.
Thanks for posting the question Ip. Now I have to demold myself. Will it never end?

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago! I opened my fairly new jar of coconut oil and it had black mold growing on top of it. Beats me how it happened - I just tossed it.

yes, I was gonna say, if you got something in there it could infect it.
I have a bottle of barely used BRAGGS ACV and it has some huge funky blob thing in it. I used it for a little before noticing and now I see it... YUCK!!!!
this is why I like to use a separate utensil for every dip. and why expensive cosmetic brands supply a dipping stick with their face creams- contamination

ACV is supposed to have the "mother" in it .... says so on the bottle. It's a raw vinegar, not like the processed stuff.

I have purchased BRAGGS for the last 15 years and don't remember seeing this white blob thing before, but I was thinking it was OK any way....
