Has anyone experienced increased hand pain and/or swollen ankles/feet, especially with sun/heat/walking while treating for protozoa or parasites?

Other variables that may correspond with my increased pain over the past couple weeks:
- started olive leaf extract
- stopped allicin
- started low dose thyroid med
- increased weekly Ivermectin dose

The pain started especially as collateral ligament pain in a couple fingers, middle and 3rd joints, extensor tendon pain over various knuckles, and just a general stiff, burning, numb, swollen feeling, also radiates to wrist some.

Any ideas what these could mean?

(It is kinda responsive to NSAID/increased fish oil, just would love to hear y'all's thoughts).

Maybe this belongs in another thread, but I've also had increased tiny scalp sores, especially at the back of my skull and seemingly migrating down the back of my neck and starting at my forehead hairline. Probably not noticeable to most, or just look like popped pimples, but in general I feel like my skin looks haggard sinnce getting sick, dry, sores, red spots, skin tags, freckles, spider veinns and all kinds of things have popped up all over my body this past year despite no sun exposure. Or maybe, as a doctor would likely suggest, I've just noticed them more since I'm looking and health journalling. Wondering if it will go back.

Any ideas what these could mean?

Skin sores may be from detoxing.

Are you able to tolerate MSM? That may help with the joint pain if you can take it.

Bartonella is notorious for the skin stuff you are describing. Perhaps it is coming out from your treatment?

yes, I had for years the puffy and painful hands in heat especially.

I treated for a couple parasites and bart and babs and I haven't noticed it since. I am not sure which caused it, but I do remember reading it somewhere.

I have had hand and foot pain for quite a few months now. It is not debilitating, but it is definitely noticeable. For me, the foot pain seems to be more noticeable at night.

I also have burning and tingling in both my hands and feet, but I haven't noticed any swelling except for occasional inflammation in certain fingers.

Also some bug crawling sensations in my shins and lower calves. My skin there seems thinner and the veins/capillaries in my forearms and legs seem to be much more visible.

I have not had the scalp sores or pain but I know others here have posted about it. Perhaps you can do a search.

Razz -
Haven't tried MSM, will def keep in mind.

CD57 -
Yeah, right? A bart herx somehow? Or perhaps a bart storm from disrupting biofilms?
As we've discussed before, I wonder if I have non-protozoal stuff going on ie bart ( I even had a transient streaky rash on my back soon after an ivermectin dose recently, and my afib has gotten worse)... But emotional stability has been perfect lately, which sounds very non-bart to me.

I had no idea if iver/olive leaf extract etc would affect bart, so checking people's experiences...

Lisa -
With what did you treat and for how long before the hand pain ceased? (1 Alleve controls mine for now, but don't want to make NSAIDs a habit...)

Thx all for your comments!

I have tried different things from a few LLMDs so, I am not sure which really helped- I was on abx for months, then couldn't tolerate so switched to new dr that treats with herbals and supplements.

My brain is affected so remembering is very hard for me- I am so sorry not to exactly know. If it comes to me I will get back to you!

I think the summer heat will be a true test for me as the puffy hands really came out in the heat- summer when it's really hot, or winter when the heat is high inside a place.

actually , as I type this I do notice today that my hands hurt exceptionally more than a couple days ago and they do feel a bit 'full', but I am wondering if the symptoms are just lessoned than they were from before I started treatments?

it is in the 90s here today, so it is super hot and humid too. Plus, I started a new treatment and it may be causing a reaction? either way,

I do see improvement

Anyone with lyme-induced RA describe the progression of their arthritis and any successful innterventions?

My hand pain is getting worse over this past month - hard to pick up pans, cut vegetables, open jars, hurts to use a touch pad, now waking up with throbbing pain.

If this is incipient RA or a temporary response to tx, I want to minimize cartilage damage - I'm mid-30's! And need my hands for work.

I've stopped OLE in case that was causing die off/ joint deposion. While I think my midday dizziness improved, didnnt affect hand pain.

My LLMD wants to hold off chasing other coinfectios til we've tx'd protozoa, but I'm also curious if we've released pathogens from the biofilm or disturbed anything dormant inn the collagen.
Has anyone had abx-responsive hand arthritis?

If you are releasing biofilms, with bacteria and fungi bursting out in your body,

shouldn't you be following with antibiotics and antifungals to kill them?

positive Bartonella henselae Igenex, 2011.
low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.
Update 7/16- After extensive treatments,

Yes, I've noticed hand pain while treating parasites. I don't know what's causing it though. Maybe it's die off toxins in the extremities causing inflammation. I also wonder if it's from lack of fluids too. Maybe a combo of both.

My hands and feet have been much more sore over the past few months of treatment. I have wondered what this could be.
