Over the last few weeks i have had some chest pressure and pain, palpitations. and weakness and heaviness, pain in left arm. Over the last few days it has gotten worse and is almost constant. For the most part it is pressure and weakness but will occasionally hurt a little.

I had the same sx and went to the ER a couple of months ago. Only that time it seemed to be brought on by zith.

The ER visit was fine the first time and they said it was a muscle strain after doing an x ray, blood test.

I know this sounds bad but i don't want to go to the ER again!

Is there anything this could be that isn't terrible?

It has happened to me for years

I take antacid first-high dose cuz sometimes it is reflux and goes away

If it doesnt go away i take skelaxin or extra mag or flexeril cuz with me (and many others with lyme )it is costochondritis-spasms in muscles around ribs

Every tume blood test and and other tests show it is not heart

I did get a carduo workup and was fine i get an echo every three years i have never had a bad ekg

I am obese tho and have high cholesterol and a lot of stress so it is scary...if my two home tx dont stop the pains i usually go to er...i mean...it is heart

I hope ypo can figure out what works for you

I could try antacid. i didn't think it was caused by that but wouldn't hurt to try.

It is pain soreness in shoulder arm and chest. For the most part it does feel muscular except for the chest pressure.

I had been swimming a lot and would notice some weakness and chest pressure here and there but blew it off. I was soo happy to be active and losing weight but now i guess it caught up and I am not swimming at all.

Probably pushed myself too hard but that wouldn't cause heart damage or would it? I know Dr. B says no cardio but I didn't feel like i was really pushing it while i was swimming, it felt nice.

Even though this seemed to be brought on by the exercise it is almost the exact sx from before when i was on zith.

Have you had a 24 hour EKG done via wearing a Holter monitor?

IMO, you need to visit a good cardiologist to RULE OUT cardiac involvement.

If brought on by zith it could be herx...so should be explored...what are you doing now that could be killing bugs

The sx are serious tho and marnie is right...you need to be sure it isnt heart so cardio chek up and plan to follow you are important

lpkayak, what seemed to bring it on this time was exercising more than usual.

I don't know if going from sitting on a couch all day to swimming everyday can cause a herx? or maybe too much too soon?

In my experience with this i think ekg is not a good test to find priblem in woman...if your a woman i think what you need is stress echo

Thats what they told me. I am obese and have high cholesterol plus sx so they give me one every 3 years

So far they show i am very low fitness but no blockage

Please dont let this go-your sx are very different from mine if brought on by exercise-be sure your doc knows that

Take care of you. Now!
