Has anybody ever experienced a "burning" sensation in their hands and feet?

I've been having this on and off. It's subtle, not terrible, but definitely noticeable. There is a subtle burning feeling as well as sometimes tingly.

Is this a normal symptom of Lyme or more some type of co-infection?

Neuropathy.
The nerves are not getting enough oxygen to function properly.

Try B12, methylcobalamine, sublingual.
Also a good quality B multiple vitamin.

Both of these have decreased my neuropathy greatly.

Gotu Kola will increase microcirculation.

It's not expensive.
Look for reviews at iHerb.com to see how much people like it.
I could feel improvements when I took it.

Good times!

I wonder if it's Lyme itself or a co-infection.

Carol in PA, I just started a good B-Complex vitamin, so hopefully after some time it'll help.

Brinkley, I took a B complex vitamin on the suggestion of a LymeNet friend, after I had complained of numbness in my feet lasting six weeks.

The next day the feeling returned!

I didn't realize at the time that this was a sign of neuropathy.
I did see my family doctor and his solution was to order a blood sugar test to see if I might be diabetic.

You may want to try a sublingual B12, as I also had good results from that.

I tried Now Foods, Instant Energy B12.

I was trying the B12 for fatigue, but in less than 12 hours, I noticed that the aching pain in my legs improved!
I was flabbergasted when I realized that the leg pain was neuropathy!

I experimented and found that the pain came back unless I took the B12 every eight hours.
After two months, I was able to cut back to once or twice daily.

Lyme itself causes neuropathy. It is an extremely common lyme symptom. It is lyme affecting the nervous system.

When I had lyme, my doc recommended sublingual vitamin B12. It worked for me.

Just go to a health food store and buy a sublingual vit B12 there. It has to be a sublingual (meaning that it dissolves under the tongue) pill.

This particular vitamin is destroyed if it goes in the stomach. So, be sure to let it dissolve under your tongue completely.
