I want to read about bicillin and how it acts in the body. Anyone know where to look? I think I might be herxing, just did my second shot on Friday and feel so tired and feverish today. This is my second shot -- had my first shot last Friday. Anyway, want to read so I can figure out if a herx makes sense after the second shot. I start 2 shots a week this week. THANKS

Google, maybe? Or do a search here for past discussions.

I remember reading awhile back that it releases over a 2 week period, but I can't find the source to confirm.
I was usually tired the day after the bicillin shot and then got energy the next day.

Your doc has you starting out slow. Having a (true) Jarsch-Herxheimer reaction after the 2nd shot is a very good possibilty! The blood serum levels of the penicillun preparation are probably reaching sustained "bacteriocidal" levels. Check w/ your doc's office & Hang in there!

Been on Bicillin shots since mid March. I got a Herx after the thrid weekly shot. After that I felt great for 2+ months. Per discussion with my Dr, we went to shots every 10 days +/-. A few times the shots got stretched out to 2 weeks or so due to vacationing and a change in insurance which required re-authorization and to mail order it vs going to my local pharmacy. It was like starting over with new herx's.
Anyway, I was on Doxy for a few years and can't remember ever herxing on Doxy. I think the Doxy just pushed the Lyme or Co-infections into dormancy, whereas the Bicillin might actually be killing active spirochaets. Dr says I can't be on any other abx while using Bicillin. Anyway, it seems like the shots wear off between week one and two.

Are you taking a cyst buster? I'm about to add tindamax 2 weeks per month.
I'm on week 4 of bicillin. Did 2 weeks of 1 shot then started 2 shots per week. I do think I herxed a bit after 3rd week.

I never had a herx on bicillin. I was taking it with doxycycline and later added tindamax. No issues. Tindamax actually gave me more energy.
