I have several teeth that are in bad shape. Two of which in the back are halfway gone. They just slowly chipped away over the last few years.

They need to be pulled. A couple others need root canals according to the dentist.

I have heard root canals can trap bacteria and are possibly dangerous, and I am not sure the teeth need it as they don't hurt.

These two back teeth, however, need to go.

Is there anything lyme related I should be aware of before having these pulled?

I think I read that it could release bad bacteria and make you sicker?

I also read one could have a bad reaction to nitrous, which I was hoping to use but am now scared of.

I can't afford a biological dentist or even a normal dentist but something is going to have to work out, can't deal with the pain much longer.

I had a root canal pulled a few yrs ago while I was on abx and it was definitely one of the worst herxing I have ever experienced, puking and all that good stuff. Which is a good thing. I think root canals are horrible and can harbor bacteria.

Good luck and have lots of detox ready to go.

Anyone with Lyme disease should read the article below before getting any dental work done.

http://lymesentinel.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-connection-between-alzheimers-lyme.html

If you must have dental work done, try to find a biological dentist. They are safer than mainstream dentists and take a more holistic approach. Below is a link to find one in your area.

http://iabdm.org/

I also would try to build your immune system up as much as possible before and afterwards.

Hope this helps.

It all really boils down to how good your dentist is. I have worked in dentistry for over 26 years.

I have root canaled teeth that have never bothered me. But they were done correctly by regular good dentists.

If any tissue is left in the canal, that's when anyone, lymie or not, will have issues.

Stress of the dental work can bring on more of a herx than what really went on in the mouth.

Try taking antibiotics when getting the teeth extracted. And follow all instructions so that you do not have a dry socket. Sometimes they are unseen and can happen no matter what, and that's in lymies or nonlymies.

Having the bacteria from broken teeth in your mouth is worse than having them extracted. Get the yuck out of your system.

I'm not into biological dentists. Sorry, but finding a dentist that will do good dentistry is better than finding one that will do a so called holistic approach.

I have known of MANY holistic offices that openly said how they rip off the public by having that 'name' out front.

I used to sell dental supplies to all offices. The gals in the holistic ones would confine in me how the holistic dentist was a horrible dentist... meaning bad dentistry.

And believe it or not, biological dentists buy the same equipment and supplies as the general ones.

They tell you how they are doing things 'differently' and yea... doing the same things but calling it by different names. It's a shame and a scam actually.

Find a good caring dentist that won't charge an arm and a leg and cares what is being done in your mouth. Anyone that racks up a treatment plan on the first visit, run from them!

And just to provide some balance here, I've never had any trouble having teeth pulled or having root canals done.

I would highly recommend the book CURE TOOTH DECAY By Ramiel Nagel. I helped to edit one of the first versions of the book but make sure you check out his latest editions.Nagel shows how diet can heal cavities and other oral problems. His advice has worked for many people. Here is a link to my review of his book http://lymesentinel.blogspot.com/2011/01/cure-tooth-decay.html
