Okay, I saw my LLMD today. My last abx combo was cefuroxime (Ceftin) ** mg and azithromycin ** mg. He asked how I was was feeling with the cefuroxime, and I said "meh."

Now he wants me to keep the ** mg azithromycin and add ** of doxy.

I'm wondering if I didn't give the cefuroxime enough of a chance. I always feel terrible in August. Even before Lyme.

Also, I am a sensitive, allergic person, but shouldn't it be *** of doxy? ** mg is the acne dose, and isn't it just bacteriostatic? Or does the azithromycin have enough killing power to compensate?

He is also going to add Plaquenil. (I didn't have a cyst-buster before.) I am trying to decide if I should push for ** of doxy or wait and see how I react to the Plaquenil. What's a relatively new Lymie to do? [confused]

**edited dosages**

Went through five years of hell because an IDSA doc ignored a CDC-positive Western blot in 2009. Started Lyme treatment in early 2014. Trying to wrap my foggy brain around the intricacies of this disease. I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Since your doxy is paired with other abx, you should be OK.

I will have to edit the milligrams per our rules here. Feel free to share via PM.
