strange...I had two separate lyme test that showed positive for band 39 only.

6 years ago when I test through igenix...I had positive bands 23-25, 34, 39 and 41 (igg/igm)

now, not through igenix I tested positive only for 39 (igm) so question is....which to believe. Also, could I just be getting better since I have been on nonstop antibiotic therapy for 5 of the 6 years.

--------------------
Lyme IGG/IGM positive 12/08
Babesia Microti IGM positive 12/08
Hemobartonella positive 1/11
mycoplasma 6/11

You could be getting better or something might be masking the lyme. You also have bands similar to mine and I have proto (FL1953). That doesn't mean that you have it, but proto hides stuff all the time in the biofilm it makes.

Also, all the other labs suck (hit or miss), except maybe the test Dr. B created (can't remember the lab).

I think 39 is lyme specific too (can't remember).

There's the problem.

Either way, band 39 is VERY specific to Lyme. Very.

You need to treat according to symptoms, not tests.

Have you tried going off the antibiotics to see how you respond?

Realize that IgeneX lists more Lyme-specific bands than labs such as Quest and LabCorp. Other labs do not list bands 31 and 34.

If you want a true comparison, you should be retested through IgeneX since one of the Lyme-specific bands you tested positive for previously was likely not tested in your recent results.

Thank you all for your comments.

Catgirl - I had a test done through fry labs in 2011 and it was positive for hemobartonella and biofilm but nothing else came up.

Lymetoo - I am wondering if I should pay for another igenix test, but the lyme doc I am seeing sent out the lab work to two separate labs and it came back positive for band 39 (igm) from both labs. I also had some babesia microti too, but not bad.

I have never felt completely well on or off abx, but have moments of feeling better when on more aggressive treatment such as bicillin injections plus babesia treatment or bicillin injections plus levaquin.

I made the most improvement (almost felt like I did pre-lyme) when I was on bicillin inj, levaquin, minocycline, and antiparasitics, but a few weeks after all that stopped I felt slowly worse again.

Honestly, I have wondered if I have that FL1953, but don't want to spend the money right now on it.

My main symptoms are joint pain mainly in shoulders. It gets so bad like frozen shoulder. Head pressure/congestion. I have horrible insomnia and drenching sweats day/night too.
