I have been experiencing a loss of the ability to write. What causes it and what treatment fixes it? Does anyone have the same problem? When I write, I have to hold the pen between my second and third fingers and grip the pen really hard in my fist in order to form the letters so that they can be read.

A change in handwriting or difficulty writing can be a sign of a serious problem. Without knowing more about you or your symptoms, meds etc as well as any tests you have had it would be hard to say nor is anyone here qualified to make that determination.
Something as serious as this needs a prompt evaluation by a professional. Is your doctor aware of this? If so have you had any tests performed MRI's , cat scans etc? If not I urge you to do so .

Not sure, but have lyme and lately been experiencing the same issue. Glad you posted and hope someone ans. that knows. Was worried I was mini stroking as my chewing ability was strange also. Kinda like brain not telling mouth how to chew correctly.

For me, those symptoms were very much neurological lyme.
I also have coinfections that can cause both the difficulty with hand coordination, swallowing, chewing "timing", speaking and modulating the tone and loudness of my voice, however these symptoms resolved with IV rocephin (high dose) for 9 months. (plus other abx for other forms of lyme).
If lyme is treated properly these symptoms can be reversed.
Do you have an LLMD or LLND?

On the questionnaire that my doc hands out to evaluate current Lyme symptoms, one of the symptoms is "difficulty writing."
My writing is improving with treatment.

In the past, I was diagnosed with neurological lyme and went on an excellent course of antibiotics for borrelia and all the co-infections. But, after that I was lax and didn't do sufficient herbal treatment to insure that Lyme left me completely. I took a little Cat's Claw all along but ignored the sx that were returning, thinking that eventually it would all go away. A couple of years ago, it came back after I experienced an incident that gave me unusual sx which were probably primarily candidiasis so I began pursuing that and eventually (accidentally) cured it with Wormwood but Lyme being the oppportunist that it is, exploded and I became prostate with Lyme and the coinfections again. It's a long story and I won't go into it here but I developed Gastritis and/or Ulcers and couldn't tolerate antibiotics anymore so decided to treat myself with herbs. The LLMD I go to is helping me with herbal treatment. Seven years ago during the abx treatment, the abx fixed my hands then and now, the herbs are slowly fixing my Lyme and Co sx. My guess is that Cat's Claw will eventually cure all of the Neuro Lyme disorders including my difficulty writing. I'm taking Arteminisinin for Babesia and Resveratrol (Poly Cusp) for Bart too. I'm presuming that difficulty writing and some of the physical clumsiness are both part of Neuro Lyme and will improve over time with Cat's Claw and Teasel. I've already gotten my mind back and, among other things, was losing the padding on my butt and have regained the lost flesh so I am making progress. Thanks for your replies to my post. Putting them altogether, I think my difficulty writing must be part of Lyme Neuro.
