i know all the latest studies suggest probiotic therapy a few hours from your antibiotic is recommended to help prevent diarrhea and possibly c-diff.
Isnt it counterproductive though? When you take your next dose of antibiotic they need to work extra hard to battle through more bacteria (good guys blocking the bad guys) that the antibiotics are designed to kill. I just can't wrap my head around whether it makes sense to take probiotics or not. Florastor yeast probiotic definitely because the antibiotic cant kill that but the others im not sure.

If you DON'T take them you will be very very sorry.
Sure, a lot of them get killed off... but some survive. If you don't take ANY, you are losing more and more ground every single day.
It's good to take them at bedtime .. and then any other time you can squeeze them in.

Yes I see what you mean.
But logically, if the abx can destroy a certain count per day... Then better it to destroy "extra" bacteria than your stomach's bacteria.
Kefir, homemade fermented products all have different probiotic colonies and beneficial yeasts.
Abx does not destroy ALL bacteria. Mostly I have read mainly lactobacillus. So it is important to supplement with many billion counts of probiotics 2-3 hours away from your abx.
