How is everyone detoxing? I recently got another bout of pain, in the width of the lower back. Nothing helps it. I wonder if it's toxins creating this. If so, what is everyone doing for detoxing?

Yesterday the doxycycline iv seemed to go right to my head. Brain fog all day, driving was out of the question. Àlso, neck and head pressure. I am going to try to get to the alternative to do the biomat or infrared sauna ... that always helps. I'm thinking of buying the mat for my bed.it helps and I can't get to her all the time. She would get it for me and I trust her to get the best one. UP to yesterday I have been doing fair...today I start 200 MG 2 times a day and ivig is tomorrow. I expect to feel worse and need more alternatives. I'm looking forward to hearing from others. God bless Theresa

Glutathione is a key detoxing agent in the body. It has a complex synthesis and can't be taken effectively as a supplement (even though they do sell it that way).
The body needs: - protein (a possible issue for vegetarians on a lot of meds) - sulfur (garlic, onions, broccoli & other brassica veggies) - vit c (but get it from food NOT from pills... synthetic ascorbic acid is not the same thing; red bell peppers are an excellent source)
to make it.
Supplements people sometimes take to help are: - NAC - ALA - Milk Thistle
Another thing that can help I think it giving your liver some "down time" so it can do its necessary tasks. Taking meds every few hrs doesn't give it a chance to do this. So limiting the number of meds/supplements to essentials only and the number of doses, and having periods of "rest" where no pills are taken, can potentially help over time. That's something you'd have to go over w/ your doc though; there isn't always flexibility in this area due to other medical considerations.
Reducing yeast is another potentially helpful strategy to consider. Yeast can lead to "leaky gut" and who knows, maybe also "leaky blood brain barrier"?
I'm not a dr though, so please don't make any changes to your diet, supplements, or meds without consulting your physician!
