After starting the abx i now notice an annoying burning that sometimes stays after peeing. I tested myself for a uti and nothing came up... What could this be?

I get this form time to time. I have no idea wha t it is.
I just had some really bad days with it after starting a new regimen of drinking apple cider vinegar, so I stopped drinking it and the burning stopped.
I don't know if it was related.
I get burning often. all my tests from drs neg too.
let's see if anyone else responds with something that can help

For me, urethra burning is a bartonella symptom.

Not necessarily ... there are different yeasts around. Candida does tend to cause vaginal infections I think, but others prefer the "climate" elsewhere.

If it is E coli you could try some d-mannose. That works wonders for uti's caused by E-coli.
Though, I don't know if that would aggrevate the problem if it is caused by yeast.

I'm with Greta. Sounds like bartonella.

There is a fungal urine culture they can order (not usually done since most UTIs are bacterial, but it's available).
It won't show Malassezia yeast though even if present because it requires a special culture medium that requires lipids; it would show most other common yeasts like candida.
Another thought I have is that if you have a lot of acid in your urine, that alone could cause a burning sensation, esp. if there is some irritation of the tissues. I think that's a standard thing they check (pH) with a urinalysis.

This is due to a tertiary infection (yeast or fungi maybe). For me, whenever I get this a hot bath takes care of it. Not everyone can take a hot bath, but I soak for as hot & as long as I can take it (15-20 min).
Time & again when it happens I do this & it goes away in hours. If/when it comes back, I do it again and again it goes away. I have done this often enough to guarantee that it goes away in me.
If you ever have a rash anywhere on your body, use Petroleum jelly. Bacteria cannot grow in the presence of heavy oils & it keeps the skin moist. That is why our skin naturally produces the oils, in order to suppress the skin pathogens & keep it moist. I was prescribed creams of sorts in the past & it only made it worst, yet petroleum jelly worked & hot baths worked even better.

One thing that worked for someone I know is eating hoarseradish (a few spoonsful, twice a day, for at least a week). Sounds nuts at first but hoarseradish actually has significant antimicrobial properties and I read that it is approved in Germany as an adjunct treatment for UTI's (in conjunction with abx).
The kind used was a fermented vegetable mix that included hoarseradish. Or you can buy the root and grate it yourself (needs to be fairly fresh I think otherwise it loses potency).
Not much downside risk that I know of.
