Hi everybody, it's been a few years. Was in treatment for 2 years and made some wonderful recovery, but after a year and a half of extreme stress in caring for a dying mom, I have relapsed.
One of my new and annoying symptoms is burning sensations on my outer eyelids. No itching, just burning. Some days more intense than others.
Will run it by my llmd tomorrow, but wonderd if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks

The cure is to apply warm compresses to the eye for about 15 minutes or more 3 times per day. Then, massage the edges of the eyelids. Massage for 5-10 minutes.
You want to eventually feel sticky discharge coming out of the pores where the eye lashes grow.
The condition occurs when the oil glands malfunction and get clogged. The more you use warm compresses and massage, the faster the sticky goo should come out. Continue the treatment until the eyelids go back to normal. It can take weeks.
I had it myself. It is very uncomfortable.
Get rid of all eye makeup that you used while you had the blepharitis. It may be contaminated with bacteria. You don't want to recontaminate yourself.
I used uncooked rice in a clean sock, heated in a microwave for my warm compress because it stays hot a long time. This is what the eye doctor recommended.
After the massage, then wash the eyelids with warm water and baby shampoo on a washcloth. This will clean off the goo.
Once goo is no longer coming out when you massage, you should feel better.
I know one person who could never get her oil glands to drain. Her eye doctor had to use a special machine to massage her eyelids. The treatment cost hundreds of dollars.
Wish you the best. I hated it when I had this condition.

Thank you for the input. I didn't mean to post never mind three times. Makes me feel three times the jerk. I'm sorry.
I don't have obvious inflammation or any other eye problem just the burning.
I want to thank everyone who hangs in there and makes this place happen. I had to stop participating back when, because I get so damn depressed reading about everyone's woes with lyme. I'm right back to that place again and can't deal.
I had some good years, though I'm back in the thick of it.
My eternal love and support goes out to all of you that are suffering with this dreadful condition (Lyme). God help us.
