I was sick last week and my husband got the flu shot last week. Just as i was feeling better my husband started feeling bad and i was right behind him.
bad cough, sore throat, swollen feeling in head, brain zaps, all over achey.
i am three days into this bug. is it too late to take anything for it?
I hate winter, I cannot believe how often I get sick and how bad i feel.

Have you tried oscillococcinum yet? It killed my hubby's flu symptoms fast. Also zinc and vitamin C, more water and lots of rest.
If you keep getting sick, you might want to change your toothbrush or clean it once you feel better (dishwasher or peroxide, etc). I kept giving myself stuff over and over again until I did this.

I have used Oscillo in the past, but it works best when taken at the onset of symptoms. It did reduce the severity and length of the flu when I had it several years ago.
I would soak your toothbrush daily in a cup of water which is mixed with a couple of drops of Tea Tree Oil. This will kill any bacteria or viruses, so you won't be re-infecting yourself.
Also use towels separately from the ones your family members use. This will help stop the spread of germs.
You might want to look into using Olive Leaf Extract as well. The best one is Seagate brand (it has the most concentration of active ingredient, oleuropein, in it. See their website at www.seagateproducts.com
You can also buy OLE on Amazon (I have done this also) or at a local health food store which carries it.
Btw - I am in no way affiliated with this product or company, just trying to help. Our family has used this and it works for killing viruses and bacteria in the past.
Read Dr. Morton Walker's book, "Olive Leaf Extract" which you might find in your local library or buy it used on Amazon for very little.
Here is a link for a very informative thread on Lymenet about OLE:

Sorry you are feeling so sick. We've had a lot of flu here at home. Just got back from seeing the doctor for my husband. Here's what he prescribed:
Vitamin C - 1000 mg - 3 times per day
Vitamin D - 10,000 IU per day
Ocillococcinum - 3 times per day
Silvercillin (it's a colloidal silver brand) - 1/2 tsp - 2 to 3 times per day; up to 2 tsp - 2 to 3 times per day
Reishi capsules - I think it was 400 mg - 2 times per day
Also, he recommended staying warm, and sweating if possible by taking hot baths, sauna, and wrapping up warmly in bed at night.
Ocillococcinum helps reduce the symptoms, in my experience it makes one feel better and has not caused a herx.
Hope something here may help you.
Best wishes.

- separate towels - note from h&p above - reminds me this important detail for keeping colds & flu from traveling to the entire family.
You may keep the toilet lid closed when flushing (which is ever so important) but it's also important not to have any towels, tissues, toothbrushes, or drinking glasses too close to the toilet for when men go, spray can travel quite a distance.
It just happens and some men may be, uh, more skilled in keeping that spray from flying up to any hand towels hanging above as seems a common place for a towel rack.
The "blue lights" show flush spray can travel TWENTY FEET, even onto the wall and light switch.
[taking to the guy] "When you pee, you get this fountain of . . . spraying about . . . " far from the toilet. -
