OK, the subject of this thread was partly tongue in cheek, but nevertheless here's some interesting info:
Athlete's Foot is caused by a particular "dermatophyte" fungus (that's a class of fungi).
And it turns out that dermatophytes produce (ready for this?) BENZYL PENICILLIN. Not only in vitro but they also produce it in vivo.
So if you happen to have dermatophytes in you, you may have your own personal supply of penicillin G going. And who knows, maybe that helps keep the Lyme spirochetes in check.
(There are some other studies on this too. Google "dermatophyte penicillin" for others.)
