This was inevitable. I've developed a yeast problem. Possibly Candida.

Years of heavy abx and, while I took probiotics, I spent the least on them and took a lot of risks, often doing nothing at all for gut support.

I was conscious of this at the time. I have always been of limited funds and I felt my need for a LLMD, integrative treatment, abx and expensive supplements was a bigger priority than gut support, so that was my sacrifice. I was aware this day would come.

I don't know how to combat Candida/yeast. For the past two months, I've gone from Watery diarrhea to moderate constipation. Horrible smelling, constant gas. Bad bloating and my pee smells really bad. This came along with a particularly careless holiday. Lot's of sweets and Gluten. More than I care to admit.

I am pretty sure this is yeast. I'm not going to a doc for this. My insurance sucks and I don't know that anyone in my coverage would even know how to treat it. I can't afford doctors anymore either.

I've been reading about the candida diet. Not sure how to pull that one off since I'm always hungry as it is. But I'll do what I must.

Could anyone out there help me do this right and spend the least? I'm assuming I need probiotics. What about S. Boullardi? That's been helpful in the past. If I take S. Boullardi should I not take caprylic acid?

I'm pretty lost in terms of fighting yeast. I don't think something like Diflucan is the answer, though it's been a decent band aid in the past. But really, I don't know what I'm doing. Little help?

You might contact your LLMD first about the candida. Ask for at least a week's worth of Diflucan or Sporanox.

Probiotics do not kill yeast. They only help you keep your head above water, so to speak.

Sounds like you need s.boulardii or Florastor or Prescript Assist for starters. Custom Probiotics CP-1 is very cost effective. Google that one.

Making your own sauerkraut would be the cheapest route and would help keep you off the sugar. Once you acquire a taste for the sour (not easy at first) your desire for sweets will go way down.

Are your blood sugars in check? If your blood glucose is high yeast will run rampant. I know a majority of us treating with long term protocols will have this issue at least a little bit, but that is something you might want to be aware of.

Cutting gluten, fruit, starches, and carbs in general will cause the yeast to die off. If you don't eat food that yeast thrives on it can't survive. This also happens to be the best way to control fluctuating blood sugar and insulin levels, which helps with so much more than yeast.

When yeast persisted despite a clean diet, what helped us the most was treating for parasites. Large quantities of raw garlic and OLE helped a little bit before that. Chelated molybdenum can be very helpful for symptoms of die off.

This was instrumental for me to combat - and win - against candida.

Ultimately, diet is the true answer. But multiple treatments are probably needed. OLE is good too. I'd treat it up in the nose as well as that is the likely source. I also like ampho b which is the prescription atom bomb.

Those sound like my symptoms I have from dealing with yeast, especially the smelly pee and well, you know...

I know its yeast because its much worse if I eat/drink something I'm not supposed to. I have to stay on a strict yeast diet or it just comes back/gets worse. As far as killing goes, I find that garlic really helps whether its raw or roasted.

I always take probiotics as well. Yeast is a serious pain in the butt!!! You have to be really focused on diet to get better in my experience.

I didn't mention that I haven't been on antibiotics for over a year. I have been doing Salt-c and parastroy for just about a year now. I do not have a LLMD anymore.

I stopped parastroy back in December. And this is when things started to get bad. What is the connection here. Why did this occur? Salt-c and parastroy were really good for me. Do I have to stop in order to treat yeast?

I had cut out all sweets for years. I'm not really big on sugar, and I don't eat any processed food, especially if it has sugar. I don't eat Gluten either.
But I eat a lot of corn tortillas. And Beans. They're cheap, and I have a huge appetite. It keeps me from feeling starved all the time.

I'm not sure how I'm going to pull off such a restrictive diet. But I will do what I must. The biggest thing for me is the financial aspect. I'm broke. Eating tons of produce means spending tons of money I don't have. I already use the farmers market and I spend a lot there.

Droid, what you said about OLE is very intriguing. Up the nose? Are you saying the yeast is in my sinuses? How would I put it up my nose? I'm curious because I have very bad ear problems and swollen lymphs. my whole sinus system feels inflamed all the time. Especially if I eat gluten or sugar. What's the deal with this?

If I could get my ears/sinuses/ tinnitus under control I'd feel just about cured most days. Where do I go from here?

For now, concentrate on your gut. That is the main issue.

Beans and tortillas are really a problem with yeast. So sorry to tell you!

I would think you could continue the salt/c and parastroy if you wanted to.

Parasites have a hey-day when we have yeast.
